The former Hoops frontman Considers the PSG academy graduate Will Glow in the Premier League but Expects to see him sign a new deal in Glasgow.

Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is”good enough to go and play in a Chelsea or Manchester United”, says Charlie Nicholas, with the Frenchman believed to be better than fellow countryman Moussa Dembele.

Transfer talk was building around a gifted 22-year-old on the books at Parkhead.

Unsurprisingly, that attack rate has attracted admiring glances from afar, with major sides in the Premier League said to be seeking to Scotland for possible additions.

Celtic legend Nicholas admits a move could occur, with Edouard a better choice for people at Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford than mooted target Dembele of Lyon.

I believe he could enter both their squads and make real effects.

“This is how much skill he has. It’s up to him how much he wants to go in his career.

“Why have I picked those clubs? Since they have both been connected with his former Celtic striker partner Moussa Dembele lately.

“He’s absolutely nailed to win the Player of the Year award in my opinion.”

While speaking up Edouard’s potential for a potential move to England, Nicholas admits Celtic should do all they can to tie an exciting gift to new terms.

He added:”When I had been Celtic I’d want to add to this feel-good variable by giving him a new contract. Reward him for what he’s doing.

“You do not even need to extend the span. Why not? It’s not likely to kill Celtic. They posted great financial statistics, so why not use some of the money to strengthen their title bid?

“They have not got nine-in-a-row wrapped up yet, even though they are in a fantastic position. Topping Edouard up would fire him up and put Celtic in a much better position.

“They are spending close to #40,000 per week to Southampton for Fraser Forster, I am led to believe, and there’s absolutely no commitment to perform a move at the end of it.

“Edouard is the player. Offering him a new deal would make him feel much more appreciated and special.

“It would also show a little devotion from Celtic and it may also work in their favor in the long term when Edouard believes his own future.”
